🧑‍🏫 About me

I teach library and information science with a focus on research skills and library management. I have previously worked as a librarian in Germany and the UK, serving communities as diverse as 🐧 polar explorers and 📖 book historians. My academic background is in literature, art and media studies (BA), linguistics (MA, PhD) and library and information science (MA).

💭 Interests

Research

🧑‍💻 I am currently (2026-27) studying the CERL data infrastructure as an example of scholar-led infrastructure.
- Associated student project (summer term 2026): A knowledge graph for CERL
🧑‍💻 I have previously (2019-2020) worked on CERL databases with a focus on linked open data and their reuse in the Digital Humanities (as outlined in this blogpost and this other blogpost.)
💬 My linguistic research (2012-17) was mostly on counterfactual donkey sentences, with a small paper on soft presuppositions.

Supervision
